The Beetle Baffle is a unique, one-way barrier system that prevents small hive beetles from entering the hive. The aluminum makes it very difficult for the beetle to climb over, depriving them access to the combs. It works by promoting the bees' natural tendency to drive invaders from the hive. The bees quickly adapt their herding behavior to drive beetles downward and out of the hive as opposed to attempting to imprison them at the top of the hive.
Purchase with or without spacer kit.
*The bottom board does NOT come with the beetle baffle. It is pictured to show how the baffle fits on the bottom board.
If not using a spacer kit, staple the baffle directly to the bottom of your brood box. When in place the baffle will be facing down, setting between the brood box and the bottom board.
The spacer kit simply allows you to nail the spacer kit to the bottom board, then nailing the baffle to the spacer kit.
