We’ve created a defense kit that gives you a sampler of tools to fight small hive beetles in your hive.
The kit includes:
5 Beetle Blasters- fill 2/3 full with the beetle oil included in the kit. Place trap between the top bar of frames. Trap works 2 ways. 1)The beetles are attracted to the bait in the oil. 2) The bees chase the beetle. The beetle jumps in the trap to for a dark place to hide. Either way drown in oil.
5 Beetle Jails- are bailable and reusable. Jails consist of 3 compartments, 2 on either end which you fill 2/3 with oil, and a compartment in the middle for bait (Apple cider vinegar or even a beetle works great for bait). The beetles are attracted into the trap by the bait and drown in the oil. Trap hangs over a top bar of a frame.
1 Pint Small Hive Beetle Trap Oil. The oil has a bait to attract small hive beetles. Shake until bait is completely incorporated. A nozzle is included to help fill traps.
5- Half Sheets Dine-A-Max Beetle Towels- cut the half sheet in half. Place between inner cover and outer cover, pinching it in the corner to hold it in place. The bees chew the towel making it fuzzy. The beetles’ legs get trapped in the towel.
